About
About TellerScore
TellerScore is an independent, free website that presents the financial information U.S. government agencies publicly disclose about every bank and credit union, in plain-English profiles.
Why it exists
Detailed financial information on every insured bank and credit union is publicly disclosed by government agencies. But it is published in formats built for analysts, and most consumer coverage focuses on the largest national banks. The thousands of community banks and credit unions that many people actually use are rarely covered in an accessible way.
TellerScore aims to give every institution, large or small, the same clear page: its key ratios, how they have changed, how it compares with peers of its size, where it has branches, and how deposit insurance applies — using the figures the agencies disclose.
Who we are
TellerScore is run by a small independent team. We are not a bank, we do not hold deposits, and we do not sell financial products. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the FDIC, NCUA, CFPB, FFIEC, Federal Reserve or any institution we list.
How it is funded
- The site is free to use and is supported by display advertising.
- We do not accept paid placements, sponsored rankings or affiliate fees for listing institutions.
- Banks and credit unions cannot pay to appear, to be ranked higher, or to change a score. The TellerScore is our own summary of the figures each institution reports publicly; it is not issued or endorsed by any government agency.
- Advertising is kept visibly separate from editorial content and labeled "Advertisement".
How we work
We show the information that U.S. government agencies publicly disclose, as they provide it. The sources are named on our data sources page; for more detail about any dataset, please contact the agency that publishes it. Our guides are written and reviewed by our editorial team. Read our editorial standards.
